Clinical Case Studies

Rehabilitation processes such as a prosthesis or splint for patients suffering from cancer, congenital defects, or trauma currently require the maxillofacial prosthetist to make exact replicas of the patients face in stone or wax. In this conventional craft based procedure a facial impression or imprint is taken which results in a moulage or exact duplication of the patient’s face.

The following figures are exemplars of the clinical case studies performed by Loughborough University and Queens Medical Centre to demonstrate the uses of Direct Write technology with reverse engineering for Maxillofacial therapies. In the current project, these case studies will be repeated multiple times and streamlined.
